Before first use, place the candle on a stable surface away from drafts, then light it and let it melt for fifteen to twenty minutes. Then extinguish the flame and, above all, check the temperature of the melted liquid on the back of your hand: it should be pleasantly warm, never hot. Pour a small amount onto bare skin and massage gently. For external use only, and patch-test on a small area if you are sensitive to fragrances. Never leave the lit candle unattended. My tip: dim the lights and let the fragrance settle in before starting the massage—the atmosphere makes up half the pleasure.
