My review
Who it’s not for: if caffeine makes you feel uncomfortable, if you’re pregnant, or if you already consume a lot of coffee during the day, this high dosage isn’t for you — WUG on, with a lower dosage, is a more measured choice within the same range. If stress, rather than fatigue, is what concerns you, WUG off addresses the opposite need.
Description
I recommend WUG Power Up from my selection of dietary supplements for men if you need a boost before a workout, a busy day, or a moment that requires concentration. Its formula combines caffeine, yerba mate, and vitamin B6 in a pack of 8 sugar-free chewing gums with an intense coffee flavor. To my knowledge, it has the highest caffeine content in the entire WUG range, making it a product best reserved for people who are already accustomed to caffeine.
What the gum contains
For a serving of 4 pieces, the formula provides:
- Caffeine: 320 mg
- Yerba mate: 80 mg (including 40 mg of caffeine)
- Vitamin B6: 4 mg
This is the highest caffeine content in the WUG range. I recommend not combining it with coffee, tea, or other energy drinks on the same day, to avoid unknowingly exceeding your usual caffeine intake.
What the manufacturer highlights
The manufacturer positions WUG Power Up as supporting concentration and endurance during intense physical or mental effort, thanks to its caffeine and yerba mate content. These ingredients are traditionally associated with reducing the sensation of fatigue, but they are no substitute for sleep or good organization of your day. I prefer to be honest: no chewing gum, however highly dosed, can make up for a genuine lack of rest over time.
Directions for use
The manufacturer recommends chewing one piece for at least 10 minutes, up to a maximum of 4 chewing gums per day, without ever exceeding this amount. The product contains caffeine and polyols, excessive consumption of which may have a laxative effect. It is not recommended for children or pregnant women and is not a substitute for a varied, balanced diet. Store the pack in a cool, dry place, out of reach of young children.
Who it's for—and who it's not for
I recommend it if you tolerate caffeine well and are looking for a real occasional boost before intense exercise, an exam, or a tight deadline. It is not for you if you are sensitive to caffeine, pregnant, or already drink a lot of coffee during the day—in that case, WUG on, with a lower caffeine content, is a more moderate choice within the same range. If stress rather than fatigue is your current concern, take a look at WUG off, designed for the opposite effect.
A friend's advice— With such a high caffeine content, it is better to try just one piece the first time to see how your body reacts.
