My review
Who it’s not for: if you think this gummy means you can spend longer in the sun or go without sunscreen, that’s neither its purpose nor its promise—without sun protection, you’re still fully exposed to sunburn. For more general support rather than sun-focused support, WUG Multivit, from the same range, meets a different need.
Description
I’m recommending WUG Solar from my selection of food supplements for women as a ritual to incorporate before exposure to the sun or UVA rays. Its formula combines carrot, pomegranate, niacin, zinc, beta-carotene, vitamin A, and biotin in a pack of 8 sugar-free gummies with a tropical fruit flavor. It’s something I like to recommend ahead of a vacation, in addition to your usual sun-protection kit, never in place of it.
What the gummy contains
Per gummy (recommended daily serving), the formula provides:
- Carrot: 70 mg
- Pomegranate: 10 mg
- Niacin: 4 mg NE
- Zinc: 2 mg
- Beta-carotene: 2000 µg RE
- Vitamin A: 800 µg RE
- Biotin: 50 µg
What the manufacturer highlights
The manufacturer positions WUG Solar as an aid for preparing the skin before sun exposure, with ingredients traditionally associated with tanning, such as beta-carotene and vitamin A. It’s important that you know this, and I prefer to stress it: this chewing gum is not intended to replace appropriate sun protection. A sunscreen with an SPF rating remains essential whenever you are exposed, regardless of your skin type or the planned duration of exposure.
How to use
The manufacturer recommends chewing the gum for at least 10 minutes before any exposure to the sun or UVA rays, with a maximum of one gummy per day. The product contains polyols, excessive consumption of which may have a laxative effect, and does not replace a varied and balanced diet. Store the pack in a cool, dry place, out of the reach of young children.
Who it’s for, and who it isn’t for
I recommend it as a little supplementary ritual to incorporate before summer, alongside sun protection that you still apply morning and afternoon to all exposed areas. It’s not for you if you’re looking for a substitute for sunscreen, or if you think this product means you can stay out longer or go without protection: that is neither its role nor its promise, and the risk of sunburn remains without SPF. If you’re looking for more general support rather than something specifically focused on sun exposure, WUG Multivit meets a different need.
Girlfriend tip — Always keep your sunscreen in your beach bag; this gummy is an addition, never a replacement.
